NOPE BUTLER jewelry is made from sterling silver plated with white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or black rhodium. Pure silver is a soft and malleable precious metal and easily damaged. In order to make silver stronger, it is mixed with other alloys. That is why in crafting jewelry, sterling silver is used due to its durability. By international standards, sterling silver consists of 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloy. The standard marking for sterling silver is “925”.
However, even sterling silver is prone to scratches and oxidation. We recommend removing your jewelry prior to bedtime, physical activity, swimming, showering, bathing. Exposure to certain environments and/or chemicals, such as chlorine, salt water, lotion, sunblock/screen, perfume, perspiration, cleaning solution, polish, could compromise the integrity of your jewelry. We recommend cleaning your jewelry with a silver polishing cloth. For a deeper clean, we recommend using mild soap with lukewarm water. This cleaning recommendation applies to jewelry, both with or without gemstones.
